Tania Lefort (MSc)
Tania Lefort - Clinical psychologist, Amboise (Indre-et-loire)
Professional experience
I'm a psychologist specializing in clinical psychology, based in Amboise, Indre-et-Loire. After graduating with a Masters in Clinical Psychology in the UK, I gained valuable experience working with psychology teams in an English hospital. This experience enabled me to explore a variety of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), emotion-focused therapy, as well as mind-body techniques (relaxation, mindfulness and meditation). This diversity has enabled me to develop a range of skills and tools to support my patients in a personalized way throughout their therapeutic journey.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, providing practical and dynamic tools to bridge the gap between understanding and action to enable you to take charge of your own recovery.
I am committed to the ethical principles of psychologists, to an empathetic and compassionate approach, while guaranteeing absolute confidentiality.
Perfectly bilingual, I conduct consultations in French or English.
Therapies
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapeutic approach that focuses on developing skills.
It aims to help people better manage their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions to effectively solve life's challenges. CBT has proven to be effective in a wide range of problems, such as depression, anxiety disorders, addictions, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders. Numerous research studies confirm that CBT leads to a significant improvement in functioning and quality of life, putting it in a better position than other forms of therapy or medication.
Psychodynamic therapy is inspired by psychoanalytic theory, but it is less intensive and shorter than traditional psychoanalysis.
Psychodynamic therapy takes a holistic approach to individual living, aiming to help people understand the sometimes unconscious motivations behind their difficult feelings and behaviors.
Its objective is to allow you to recognize and understand negative thoughts and repressed emotions, in order to resolve psychological conflicts and improve your quality of life, self-esteem and interpersonal relationships.
This form of therapy is particularly suitable for people who are capable of introspection and want to understand themselves better. Studies have compared the effectiveness of psychodynamic therapy to that of antidepressant medications, showing very positive results.
Modes of consultation
The choice depends on your needs, your preferences and the reasons for the consultation.
Online therapy
Simple, practical and accessible
- Online appointments by calendar
- viso platform for medical consultations
- PC/Mac or mobile/tablet compatible
Comfort and convenience:
Online therapy eliminates the need to travel, which helps reduce the anxiety sometimes associated with face-to-face appointments. Many of my patients find great comfort in the familiarity of their surroundings, allowing them to feel more at ease. During sessions, when sensitive subjects may be discussed, some prefer to confide in me from the comfort of their armchair, with a cup of tea in hand. Others feel reassured by the presence of a loved one nearby, which helps them to express themselves more freely.
Accessible anywhere, anytime:
Whether you're at home, in the office or halfway around the world, your online session is just a click away.
Online therapy adapts to your lifestyle for flexible, confidential support.
Easy and secure:
Sessions take place via video-consultation on Doxy, a platform dedicated to online consultations. Once you have booked and paid, you will receive a secure, no-download access link to join the session.
In-person consultation
Amboise practice (currently being set up)
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Face-to-face consultation allows direct contact, often perceived as more intimate and warm. This approach is particularly suited to people who prefer the physical presence of their therapist.
It is recommended for follow-up work requiring more detailed observation, especially during the first sessions, as well as for addressing deeper, more complex issues during analysis.
